Jumoke

Adeyanju

Adeyanju Jumoke is a well-established dancer, writer, curator and Vinyl-DJ. Besides dance and academia, she became a host of multiple cultural events and a multilingual poet. Adeyanju Jumoke is the founder of The Poetry Meets Series and radio host for YAASAA, an African media platform. Her multidimensional work has been commissioned and exhibited by Arthouse Foundation Lagos, African Artist’s Foundation, Galerie Wedding and DTSA Conference at City University New York. As an allround-artist, Jumoke’s approach touches on topics like diaspora nostalgia, memory, performativity and how various elements of expressive art forms interrelate and incorporate the potential to (re-)create moments of reviving other or rather lost selves.
